Heroes

When we're 5 they are our heroes
And they're living forever.
Then we grow up
And we find they're flawed,
And make mistakes.
That they are only human.
And we spend the rest of our lives
Trying to reconcile
Both the hero and the human
Until forever is no more
And we realize that
They were only heroes
Because they were human
